Kubo and the Two Strings

Ultra had the great pleasure of being invited by Focus Features to flex their creative muscles at the premiere of Kubo and the Two Strings. After viewing the film, Ultra fell in love with the Garden of Eyes world depicted in this Laika instant classic. To bring it all to life for the red carpet experience, Ultra produced four creatures standing as high as eight feet tall, with glowing eyes and fully functional blinking eyelids. The creatures truly elevated the carpet experience along with stars Matthew McConaughey and Art Parkinson, among many other actors, filmmakers, and invited guests. To create a more immersive experience and help shield attendees from the Los Angeles summer sun, a special twenty foot tall canopy was erected over the red carpet to provide shade and a diorama-type vibe. Custom step & repeat and canopy artwork of the Garden of Eyes flowed together seamlessly, producing an underwater visual presence, complete with swimming Kubo. Ultra even rolled out a special green carpet to complete the look of the environment in three dimensions! Premiere produced by Swisher Productions.
